Clear Aligners

3D printing is done in our office with the SprintRay Pro - this remarkable machine translates digital files into 3 dimensional objects. Each aligner model is made in 0.2mm increments of tooth movement, and the prints have a resolution of 100 micron…

Depending on the complexity of your case, we may elect to use an outside lab, or use 3D printing to fabricate your custom clear aligners right in our office! We scan your teeth, Dr. Burn digitally aligns them, and then models of your teeth are 3D printed and aligners are formed! Packaged in compostable bags and made in small batches, we create less waste and leave a smaller carbon footprint.   Ask for a tour of our 3D printing area when you visit the office, we would love to show you this in action. 3D printing is done in our office with the SprintRay Pro - this remarkable machine translates digital files into 3 dimensional objects.

Wait, what exactly are clear aligners?

Clear aligners are a type of orthodontic appliance, and can be an alternative to traditional braces in many cases. A custom designed prescription series of virtually invisible "aligners" are worn to straighten the teeth. The aligners are changed at a specific schedule until your teeth are straight. The biggest advantage of this type of treatment is that is nearly undetectable to anyone who does not know you are undergoing orthodontic treatment. The aligners are completely removable, so there are no restrictions on what you can eat, and it is easier to maintain excellent oral hygiene than with traditional braces.  The tradeoff is that they need to be worn 20+ hours per day to be effective, so they require a high degree of compliance from the patient.

Do you do Invisalign?

Dr. Burn has been working with Invisalign for over 15 years, and is experienced in providing clear aligner treatment using their prescription lab service, as well as other labs. She has completed the Aligner Intensive Fellowship, which is the most comprehensive aligner education available to orthodontists. This area of technology is evolving rapidly, and we are proud to offer you multiple options for your treatment.
